Transferring Students
Transfer Students
Transferring from a Non-Accredited School
Students entering from non-accredited programs must provide complete records of their academic history. For placement purposes, the District may require testing or other evaluation measures before the student begins attending school.
If placement testing is not completed, the principal or designee may require the student to wait up to two school days after enrollment is requested before starting school.
What families should know:
- Complete academic records are required
- Placement testing may be needed
- Start dates may be delayed up to two school days if testing is not completed
Withdrawing from a District
Withdrawing a student means the student will no longer attend a school in that district. This is different from transferring between schools within the same district.
If your student is moving to another school within the same district, contact your student’s current school first. The school will provide instructions for completing the transfer process.
Steps to Withdraw Your Student
- Request an official withdrawal at your student’s current school
- Ask the school for copies of important records
- Keep school contact information for future registration needs
Records to Request
- Transcripts
- Test scores
- Immunization records
- Birth certificate
Important Information & FAQ's
Be sure to keep the name, address, and fax number of the school your student is leaving. This information is often needed when registering in another district or state.
If you do not have this information, the school secretary can provide it when you request the withdrawal.
