Boise School District Announces Administrative Appointments

Boise, ID -- 04/10/2026 -- Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective July 1, 2026. 

Allie Bigham - Assistant Principal, Horizon Elementary School

Ms. Bigham brings 18 years of service to the Boise School District and a strong record of leadership supporting students, staff, and families across a variety of roles. Since 2022, she has served as Assistant Principal of BASE/ASCENT, where she has supported students through individualized programming and helped strengthen systems designed to meet diverse learning needs.

Ms. Bigham began her career in education as a special education teacher, serving students at Maple Grove Elementary School (2008–2012) and Hawthorne Elementary School (2012–2015). Her classroom experience supporting diverse learners continues to inform her leadership approach and her commitment to ensuring strong instructional systems for all students.

Over the course of her career in the District, Ms. Bigham has also served as a Title I Enrichment Facilitator, Right Response Coordinator, Extended School Year Administrator, and Special Education Consulting Teacher. In these roles, she collaborated closely with administrators and school teams to connect district initiatives with classroom practice, supported compliance and instructional planning, and helped guide services for students receiving special education supports.

In addition, Ms. Bigham has been an active contributor to the District’s professional development efforts, providing differentiation training for educators and helping build teacher capacity to recognize the attributes of giftedness in learners from diverse socio-economic and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Her work as a Title I Enrichment Facilitator strengthened equitable identification practices and supported teachers in designing instruction that meets a wide range of student needs. She brings deep experience in content development, differentiation, and inclusive instructional practices that support student-centered learning across classrooms and programs.

She is a well-respected instructional leader who believes each and every student can learn and succeed when provided the right supports. She has demonstrated experience implementing instructional strategies that support student growth and align with the Boise School District’s commitment to student-centered learning, standards-based reporting, and the goals outlined in the District’s Strategic Plan. Her collaborative leadership style fosters a nurturing environment where staff members work together in the best interest of students.

Ms. Bigham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K–8), a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education (PreK–12) from the University of Idaho, a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of Idaho, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration from the University of Idaho. She also holds endorsements in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Gifted and Talented Education (GATE).

Allie Wagner, Principal, Horizon Elementary School

Ms. Wagner currently serves as Principal of Seven Oaks Elementary School in the West Ada School District, where she has supported strong instructional systems, staff collaboration, and a school culture focused on meeting the needs of every student. She brings more than 14 years of experience in education, including leadership experience as an elementary principal and principal intern, along with a decade of classroom teaching across multiple Idaho school districts.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Wagner served as a Principal Intern at Chaparral Elementary School and Pleasant View Elementary School in the West Ada School District. Earlier in her career, she taught at Silver Sage Elementary School (West Ada School District), Bryan Elementary School (Coeur d’Alene School District), Ponderosa Elementary School (Post Falls School District), Prospect Elementary School (West Ada School District), and Washington Elementary School (Caldwell School District). Throughout these roles, she contributed to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation, curriculum adoption committees, intervention systems supporting early literacy, and collaborative leadership teams focused on improving student outcomes.

Ms. Wagner’s leadership aligns closely with the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan priorities and student-centered learning approach. She has helped strengthen MTSS structures, supported effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and worked alongside staff to ensure instructional systems respond to the needs of every learner.

She is also committed to supporting the District’s transition to standards-based reporting, helping ensure students and families receive meaningful and timely feedback about learning progress while strengthening instructional practices that support growth for every student.

In addition, Ms. Wagner brings valuable experience supporting inclusive learning environments for students with diverse needs, including special education, gifted and talented programs, and multilingual learners. As a trained Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner, she has provided training to educators at both the school and district levels to better support students impacted by trauma and strengthen relationally safe learning environments.

Known as a calm, approachable, and collaborative leader, Ms. Wagner supports staff through coaching, professional development, and strong instructional systems that help every student succeed.
